Short Sail (Junior) Custom Mast Sections

Short Sail (Junior) Custom Mast Sections

Quote from Weeks' website, "The upper section of the junior mast is longer than the standard mid mast section and the lower section is shorter. These custom sections successfully add proper mast bend back into the design."
Does anyone have one of these "junior masts" and can you measure the sections and post the lengths?
I am thinking to do this: either buy a Weeks "junior" top section ($150 on Weeks website) and cut down my extra lower section to make one of these custom junior masts or buy some tube and make my own junior top section.
This is not for me (yet). I am only 66 years young. I am doing this for a friend who is weight challenged.

Re: Short Sail (Junior) Custom Mast Sections

I'd advise to get a Cullen short rig sail.  Then you simply remove the top section, fashion a cap for the top of the mid section and you're good to go.  Makes it so you can use the same mast pieces for both sails.   smile
