Good-bye & hello

Good-bye & hello

After having Emanon sit mostly idle for the past 2 years, it now has a new owner in Ray Berthelson. Ray is a member of Hunterdon Sailing Club, so the boat is sure to see much more use in one of the most active F5 fleets. Which means the final chapter of my Force 5 racing "career" has now been closed. Fair winds to all the terrific people I've had the great pleasure of racing against & socializing with lo these many years.

Most importantly, as you cross paths and tacks with Ray, please extend to him the same warm welcome and helpful hints all of our newbies have enjoyed.

Jibe ho! (Or is it jibe ha?)

John:

Thank you for the many years of participating, service and leadership to the class.  I for one will be disappointed not seeing you at the major events each year.  Best of luck in your future endeavors.  God I hope it involves more than Sunfish racing smile.

John I know you'll be enjoying your Sunfish and have the wind in your sail - be well

Thank you "Force 5 Hall of Famer John Barrere" for the kind introduction and welcome!
And for the hours of briefing, they were an education I hope to someday be able to digest and employ. And thank you for driving a good distance to meet me at a major rest area sandwiched between two tractor trailers, like a scene from "Breaking Bad."

And thank you to Fleet 36 at Hunterdon Sailing Club for continued life saving advice, namely Charlie Spademan, Rainer Dehe, Jay Halsted, Doug Brown, Linda Howard, Jeff Titman and Rich Baumann.

Following in your wake, but hopefully not for long,
Ray

Re: Good-bye & hello

Hi John. One of the two happiest days of your life. I hope that when we next meet, we'll have time for a chat and a drink and talk about the way things should be. Thanks for your vision, your encouragement and sharing some of your wisdom. Tony
