Sounds good. I think I'm coming over there on the 19th. I might run to Rochester and pick up a 420 if my brother is home. I'll let you know once I finalize the plans. Apr-10-13 13:18:06

I've been inspired by the talk of hockey sticks in the tiller thread!!! I think we should have a contest at the NAs to see how many bits of equipment from different sports are fitted to a F5 and/or its skipper. Winning skipper + boat gets a... Mar-21-13 10:23:35

Looks to me like any mat'l is fine as long as tiller length is < 42". Weak link in the whole thing is the attachment of ext to tiller. Mar-21-13 10:16:15

My opinion (NOT borne out by results b/c I tend to pinch unconsciously) is that staying flat with speed is the key. If there is any chop at all, pinching is death. Hence my upwind performance. (Plus my tacks - way too many - sucked). Next time... Mar-21-13 10:04:05

I've used both a Hobie 16 stainless pin and a stainless bolt with a nylock. I prefer the bolt with nylock. Also, I have a small cleat on the tiller so the board stays up while I am launching and retrieving the boat. Mar-02-13 13:56:38

Like I said in the original post, it works about as well as the OEM AMF part. Which means if you are taking a lot of water into the cockpit on a screaming reach in big chop, it prob won't keep up. Feb-25-13 14:12:27
